Rave As night sets over this city of sinners, the hypnotizing, pulsing beat of electronica rises over the silence from a little haven forged out of a large, abandoned warehouse in the projects. For just a little while, until the sun barges in to tell everyone the fun is over and to head back to their 9-5’s, there is nothing but the rave.Rave by ~Weird-and-proud-LOL
You press your way in and let the man by the door place a tab of hallucinogen-soaked paper on your tongue. You don’t know for sure what it is, but he’s always got something good, so you take it into your mouth and give him a wink as you pass by. He only gives the good shit to his favorites

with something important to tell me,
and let the poison of tense silence fill my lungs
like blackened smoke
Hold my hand
and give me bittersweet kisses,
hoping not to taste my salty tears
when you lean in
and whisper in my ear,
'I never liked The Catcher in the Rye'

Nora's Suicide (feedback greatly appreciated) Nora had been in the tub for a while now, watching fluffy soap bubbles reduce to white, foamy Lilli pads in the still water. The bath had gone cold, but it didn’t bother her. She tilted her head to the side a bit, staring at the pale flesh of her thighs and knees protruding from the water. Absentmindedly, she traced a delicate finger over the 30 thin, horizontal scars along her thigh. They were old, probably about a year now, but Nora could still feel little jolts of pain when she touched them. She’d never been depressed, just bored. The sensation was a rush for a while, but that, too, soon became monotonous. She put a cigaNora's Suicide (feedback greatly appreciated) by ~Weird-and-proud-LOL
What is your character's name? Does the character have a nickname? Kendall, but she goes by her middle name, Blaine
What is your character's hair color? Eye color? Nice primary green for the hair, brown eyes
· What kind of pets does s/he have, if any? A fat, hairless cat named Lex
· Does s/he have any tattoos, piercings? Her lobes, cartilage, nose and cheekbones are pierced. She's got partial sleeves and a stray tat on her legs or back. No fucking clue what they are yet though
· Does s/he have any talents? She draws remarkably well. She also plays the cello, but that stays in her room. She's a wonderful saleswoman at the wiccan shop she works at, though she herself is an atheist
What kind of distinguishing facial features does your character have? Wonderful cheekbones & pale skin
Does your character have a birthmark? Where is it? What about scars? How did s/he get them? A few faded scars on her left wrist from a short issue with self-harm shortly after her mother died and a birthmark on the back of her right thigh
· What is his/her favorite band? Your typical vintage goth kid stuff. The Cure, Joy Division, Siouxie and the Banshees. But she's got a guilty pleasure for Five for Fighting
Who are your character's friends and family? Who does s/he surround his/herself with? Who are the people your character is closest to? Who does he wish s/he were closest to? She's an only child, and she's lived in a New York suburb with her father (a violent alcoholic) until recently. She now lives in New York City with her best (and possibly only) friend, Max, a gay Hispanic man who works as a bartender
Where was your character born? Where has she lived since then? Where does she call home? She feels most comfortable in her apartment shared with Max in a location to be determined later
Where does your character go when s/he's angry? Into her room with her favorite Joy Division album
What is her biggest fear? Who has s/he told this to? Who would s/he never tell this to? Why? Becoming like her father.
Does she have a secret? Dunno yet
What makes your character laugh out loud? 80's high school flicks. Her favorite film is Pretty in Pink
When has your character been in love? Had a broken heart? She loved one boy when she was about 13, but after her mother died she told him she needed a break. After that she just sort of forgot about him and they haven't spoken since
What is in your character's refrigerator right now? On her bedroom floor? On her nightstand? In her garbage can? She keeps her room clean, with a little concentrated mess on her nightstand; books, notebooks, old pictures and an obnoxious vintage alarm clock clutter the top. Her fridge is filled with junk food and microwave dinners, with the occasional Slim Fast in the door shelves (part of Max's failing and completely unnecessary diet plan)
Look at your character's feet. Describe what you see there. Does he wear dress shoes, gym shoes, or none at all? Is he in socks that are ratty and full of holes? Or is he wearing a pair of blue and gold slippers knitted by his grandmother? She's got pale, dainty feet with painted toenails. She's barefoot as much as possible, but when footwear is necessary, black flats or boots are her choice. Red pumps on nights when Max drags her to the club
When your character thinks of her childhood kitchen, what smell does she associate with it? Sauerkraut? Oatmeal cookies? Paint? Why is that smell so resonant for her? Whisky. After her mother died, her father's drinking spiraled out of control. Her childhood home always smelled like alcohol
Your character is doing intense spring cleaning. What is easy for her to throw out? What is difficult for her to part with? Why? She'll toss the ugly sweaters given to her as Christmas presents from distant relatives and the childish baubles her father sends her in an obligatory attempt to patch up their relationship. She keep photos from her youth of her and her parents at Disneyworld.
It's Saturday at noon. What is your character doing? Give details. If he's eating breakfast, what exactly does he eat? If she's stretching out in her backyard to sun, what kind of blanket or towel does she lie on? She's lounging on the couch, her nose buried in a book or her laptop, talking to estranged high school friends on Facebook she wishes she saw more often. A special on WW2 on the History channel is on TV for background noise
What is one strong memory that has stuck with your character from childhood? Why is it so powerful and lasting? Her first tattooa butterfly under a banner wither mother's name on it. She recalls the day vividly because she had a meltdown in the parlor while she told the artist the significance
Your character is getting ready for a night out. Where is she going? What does she wear? Who will she be with? Max has convinced her to come out to the club he bartends at, telling her for the hundredth time that "you need to get out of the house, pumpkin!" While she refuses to have a good time and does not stray from Max and the bar, she uses the opportunity to throw on her red heels and favorite pinup-style dress, her green hair curled. It's not that she's depressed or "anti-social", per say, people just never appeal to her. She sees no point in socializing.
